    I didn’t QUITE have this problem. I had a “not great, but workable” talk by the villain.

    My newbie player didn’t interrupt it. He joined her instead.

    Luckily, he was playing on his own that day, and afterwards I explained a) that his character was now an NPC, and b) under normal circumstances, PCs are expected to be at least neutral. I think he’s got it now, but we’ll see next session.
