But if this is the final cover layout I feel the logo kind of takes a bite out of the top of the image. Also, it’s sort of a big blob of white that to my mind contrasts oddly with the subtler tones of the artwork.
Layout: Not crazy about having that big white oval at the top. The white color is a bit stark, and the oval covers too much of the image, IMHO. Have you considered losing the oval and just overlaying the “Legends & Labyrinths” logo text directly onto the cover? Just a thin white outline around the letters themselves for contrast should do the trick.
If you’re keen on keeping the oval, another option would be to shrink the art down a bit so that it sits entirely below the oval, with no overlap. And shrink the logo a bit as well, I think.
The oval isn’t what I found distracting…it’s the bluish crystals sprouting from the ground in various places. Given that the adventurers and the monsters are all in earthy-toned colors, having the crystals be blue draws the eye to them, and away from the action.
I think the artwork is great but it’s really let down by the logo. It’d be a shame if your cover wasn’t as good as it could be. If you don’t know any graphic designers that could help you out then feel free to give me a holler.
Is that the final layout for the cover?
The artwork is great!

Agreed with the others, the logo is distracting, I’d rather just keep the text directly over the image in a contrasting color.

Totally agree with Peter K. Nice artwork, but the logo doesn’t fit very well….
Any ideas on when this book will be available?

If your intent is to ruin an incredibly awesome picture with a horrendous layout and logo, I would say job well done!
Been about 2 months since the last update and, what maybe 9 months?, since the project was funded. Any further updates?
I’m going to take that as a “no”.
