The Alexandrian

It’s time for the big finale, but the players just called Elminster and now an NPC is enjoying the end of the story. How did it all go so wrong? And how can we fix it?

After a long hiatus, the Alexandrian Youtube channel is back in action. Last week I filmed raw footage for a dozen new videos and I have a new editor working on the videos now. If all goes well, we’ll have new videos every week (plus a few new surprises, too!).

Good gaming! I’ll see you at the table!

Glad you managed to get your editing issues worked out! 🙂 Hope this works out as well as it appears!

As for the video (and original article) itself, there is also one option not mentioned: The Big Guns Are Corrupt. In particular, I’m thinking of how in Eberron, most branches of the Sharn Watch are corrupt in some way, with only one watch captain who’s completely on the up-and-up. This could be a hard stop forcing the PCs to take care of things on their own, but it’s more interesting if it’s a plot hook: the Big Bad is blackmailing the Big Guns! Oh no! Can you defuse this problem so the Big Guns can save the day?

    Thought provoking as always Justin.

Perhaps the PCs call in the big guns only to have the big guns fail?

Maybe Elminster weakens the foe (or solves part of the PC’s problem) before he is taken out somehow? Or (even better) he gets himself killed, or captured, or just makes the problem worse — now the PCs have yet another problem to deal with!

Either way, the ball is back in the PC’s court.
