FULLY COMMITTED
Starring alumni Nathan
Keepers. Fully Committed
is a devastatingly funny play about a day in the life of Sam
Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line
at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. While juggling scheming
socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and egomaniacal
bosses, can Sam manage to make it home for the holidays?

| TWELFTH NIGHT
Alumnus Nathaniel Nesheim-Case appears in Jenna Papke's production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
When Viola loses her twin brother in a shipwreck she pretends to be a
man in order to get a job. Too bed she immediately falls for her boss,
who's in love with a woman who falls in love with the man Viola's
pretending to be. People's Center Theater December 2nd - December 11th, 2010 |
| SUPER-POWERED REVENGE CHRISTMAS #1
Alumna Emily Gunyou Halaas appears in Super-Powered Revenge Christmas #1.
In a dive bar on Christmas Eve, a disgruntled comic book writer fights
with his collaborator (and ex-girlfriend) about his grand vision: a
giant comic book reboot of Christmas, with its beloved icons reborn as
superheroes. Thrill to tales of a brooding Santa! Shudder at the untold
might of George Bailey! Question the relevance of Frostina the
Snow-woman! Playwright and comedian, Bill Corbett (of Mystery Science
Theater 3000 and Rifftrax fame) tackles the age old question that
plagues both comic books and the holidays: "Does this all make sense? I
mean, really?" This December, it's on like ret-con. Minneapolis Theater Garage December 2nd - December 18th, 2010 |
| BURN THIS
Alumna and South High Theater Artistic Director Ellen Fenster directs Burn This,
an American masterpiece written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright
Lanford Wilson, for teh Gremlin Theater. A powerful, electrifying work
by the playwright whom many regard as our theatre's finest living
writer, this searing drama examines the pains of loss, love and the
sacrifices made in the name of one's art. Gremlin Theater December 3rd - December 19th, 2010 |

OPUS
A celebrated
string quartet has their backs against a wall on the eve of their White
House debut. They’ve had to replace their violist with gifted,
inexperienced Grace, who’s never played Beethoven's difficult Opus
131. Opus
explores the power and pettiness of collaboration... and what a girl's
gotta do to play with the big boys.
Alumni Emily Gunyou
Halaas stars as Grace in Park Square Theater's area
premiere.

INSTITUTIONS
This section is dedicated to
the South High Theater alumni who have become part of institutions for
theater, film, or the arts. As we all know, there's more to theater
than just the performers up on stage. This is our way of acknowledging
more than just the tip of the iceberg and recognizing the many
accomplishments and achievements of our South High Theater alumni. (In
general, the idea is that if you're contributing creatively to a
specific show -- acting, directing, editing, designing, stage managing,
writing, or the like -- the show will be spotlighted up above. But if
you're on the board or own the company or running the theater's box
office, this is the place for it.)
