Alumni Ahren Potratz is one of the performer-creators of Survive!
In 1972, NASA launched a pair of satellites named Pioneer into space.
Each was fitted with a plaque intended for intelligent beings who found
it. It's a message to the universe: We are humanity. We are here.
What if in 2010 we received a message back?
An
audience enters a room. They each hold a map with an arrow in the
center that says plainly: YOU ARE HERE. They are suddenly surrounded by
a strange and other-worldly voice. Within minutes they've received a
message and a mission: "Yes, you are here. And now you need to
understand what that means."

SHERLOCK
HOLMES AND THE CASE OF THE JERSEY LILY
Alumna Sarah Holmberg will
be designing the props for Sherlock Holmes and the Case of
the Jersey Lily
at Park Square Theatre. During a small matter of blackmail and missing
jewels, Watson pines for Lily Langtry, Holmes chases the infernal
Moriarty, and Oscar Wilde gets some of his best lines. The wit and
wisdom of Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle and even William Shakespeare
combine to offer up a delightful escapade that includes seduction and
secrets, lies and lilies, mistresses and mayhem.

INSTITUTIONS
This section is dedicated to
the South High Theater alumni who have become part of institutions for
theater, film, or the arts. As we all know, there's more to theater
than just the performers up on stage. This is our way of acknowledging
more than just the tip of the iceberg and recognizing the many
accomplishments and achievements of our South High Theater alumni. (In
general, the idea is that if you're contributing creatively to a
specific show -- acting, directing, editing, designing, stage managing,
writing, or the like -- the show will be spotlighted up above. But if
you're on the board or own the company or running the theater's box
office, this is the place for it.)
